Nitrogen Rate with Source and Band Placement - Compare different rates of nitrogen using different types of nitrogen fertilizer at different rates in different placements.

Opener Tip Size - To compare the common ¾” single knife tip size to a 2” tip at varying rates of seed placed starter fertilizer.

PLDS Nitrogen Distance Trial - To see how moving the seed relative to the nitrogen band either to the side, or deeper, effects the emerging crop when using a dual shank side band opener.

Seed Rate - To compare low, medium, and high seeding rates in wheat.

Soil Enhancement Trials - To compare a control to three different products, phosphorus placement, and also total fertility package.

Urea Placement - MRB vs SB vs Split - Identify differences in wheat between seeding systems and when nitrogen is placed in a mid row band versus in a side-band and a split between the two.

Designing Equipment Around Agronomy

Bourgault operates a 2500 acre research farm in St. Brieux Saskatchewan. Every year Bourgault conducts field trials which help understand the impact of the design of the equipment on crop development, as well as to provide customers and agronomists with recommendations on how to best utilize the Bourgault lineup of equipment.
