2022 Wheat Trial Results

Wheat Trial conducted during the 2022 season

High Rate Seed Placed Phosphorus - To see the effects on wheat when doubling the amount of phosphorus in the seed row.
Nitrogen Placement – Mid Row Band (TriMax™ Triple Shoot) vs Side-Band - Identify differences in wheat when nitrogen is placed in a mid row band versus in a side-band.
Nitrogen Source and Placement – Broadcast (SuperU) vs SB (ESN) vs MRB™ (Urea) - Identify differences in wheat when different sources and placements of nitrogen was used.
Phosphorus Placement – Seed Row vs Side-Band (Hot Band Trial) - To compare phosphorus (P) placement in the seed row (SR) versus in a side-band (SB) when nitrogen is applied either in the side-band (SB) or in the mid row band (MRB™).
Plant Growth Regulator Trial - Identify the effectiveness of a PGR on yield and protein at varying fertilizer application rates.
PLDS Nitrogen Distance to Seed Trial - To see how moving the nitrogen band either to the side, or deeper, effects the emerging crop when using a dual shank side band opener.
Seed Rate Trial – To compare low, medium, and high seeding rates in wheat.
Starter Phosphorus Trial - To compare differences in seed safety and yield between various phosphorus products when the full amount of the product is placed in the seed row (SR).
TriMax™ Seed Placement - To compare the best placement of wheat seed when using a PLDS dual shank opener, having the Nitrogen being applied through the MRBs™.

Bourgault operates a 2500 acre research farm in St. Brieux Saskatchewan. Every year Bourgault conducts field trials which help understand the impact of the design of the equipment on crop development, as well as to provide customers and agronomists with recommendations on how to best utilize the Bourgault lineup of equipment.
